Teddie Talks Traverso
Teddie Talks Traverso is an online series dedicated to topics surrounding the practice of playing on historical flutes. These include talks, workshops, and various forms of media which I've especially curated for the curious learner. I'm specialized in coaching traverso players as well as modern flutists wanting to deepen their knowledge of musical styles and aesthetics. You may want to get to know my pedagogical style by perusing through my Flute-Playing Blog, as well as checking out my concepts in music and imagery.
Forthcoming events can be found on my Eventbrite page below. ALSO, find quick tips on historical flute-playing on my YouTube playlist, or visit my Facebook page at Teddie Hwang Music and Photography.

What People Say:
"Teddie's workshops on French Baroque music are a rare gift! She fills them with pertinent research materials, and demonstrates passages from manuscript facsimiles. This is the real deal; in a few short minutes, students are learning how to make fine adjustments that transform straightforward playing into something nuanced and shimmering. Teddie's own playing is just beautiful, and the examples are always perfectly chosen. While I've a long way to go, these workshops have certainly helped my playing, and I would heartily recommend them to anyone." - Joanna Demers, University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, USA
"Teddie's workshops are a fantastic learning experience! She creates such a friendly environment and explains things in such a clear manner that the workshops can apply to anyone at any level. Her knowledge of the Baroque era and her perspectives are inspiring and very valuable!" - Elizabeth Pogue, USA
"I originally learned about Teddie because of her beautiful film for Blavet's "Gigue en Rondeau." I was intrigued. I then discovered her virtual class on French Baroque articulation. I attended and was fascinated by the work she is building on related to the French language and musical articulation. I found the class very instructive and rewarding for my own playing and teaching." - Lisa Marie Chaufty, University of Utah School of Music, USA
"The conversational nature of the music and the approach to articulation were both very illuminating."
"...engaging and knowledgeable."
"It opened my eyes to the whole work..."
